Netherlands - Oostvoorne

This morning we woke to rain this morning but after an hour or s the sun was out and we had
The Hague Tower
lovely weather.
We have to get used to a later start in the day as sunrise is only at about seven in the morning.
Hotel Oostvoorne
Showered, packed and again a fabulous Dutch breakfast of all sorts of breads, ham, salami, etc.
Yesterday we met some Harley riders that had been on a bike rally and were also staying at Hotel Julianna. They will be setting off for the ferry today back to the UK today. We envy the guys that are so close to Europe and can just pop on the ferry for a few days. First it cost us a fortune to travel to Europe and then we lose so much time travelling, but it is still worth it.
Canal in The Hague
We went off into The Hague to see The Hague Tower but were disappointed as it is not what  and The House of Representatives is closed today. Not a good “The Hague” experience.
Near the Europort
we thought
We decided to travel to Rotterdam today but on arriving in the city centre it seem just like The Hague (I think Haarlem has spoilt us and we now want all the bigger cities to be like that).
We are now in the South West of Netherlands. Rotterdam harbour is one of the biggest harbours in world. In
Murphy Station Pub - Supporting Ajax
Rotterdam, it did not take us long to decide to head for the tiny village of Oostvoorne.
We jumped on the highway and somewhere along the way, we landed up on the wrong highway and passed coal mines which we never knew happened here. We also passed wind turbines generating electricity by the dozens.
This is nothing like you would picture Netherlands. When you research about Netherlands you discover that they are one of the second largest tomato exporters in the world, so instead of just tulips, clogs and windmills there is a very self sufficient country at work.
It is fabulous. A leafy lush village with a pub and a motel call “Murphy’s Station” - why Irish roots – don’t know – might still find out.
Soon after arrival we were caught up in a football match, in the pub, supporting Ajax – just in case we got into trouble with the locals.
We have a spacious cabin to park off in tonight.
