Netherlands - Delph

De Adriaan Mollen Windmill
Streets of Haarlem
By 8.30 we were in bed and just died, not a movement from us
until 7.30 this morning.

After a shower and packing up a most beautiful breakfast was waiting for us. Parma ham, cheeses, eggs, breads, croissants and jams and coffee to die for. Thanks Ellen for you hospitality, I hope you contact us when you are in South Africa.

Hotel Julianna
Thanks to the navigation system it is really easy to get
Delph Factory
around. We went into Haarlem to the De Adriaan Molen Museum which is a famous windmill and the Corrie ten Boom Museum. Here we missed out because of the times of the tours that they let into the house - really sorry about that, so we just did the sightseeing through the streets which were filled with local produce with today being Saturday and market day.

Next stop we wanted to do was Den Haag but when we arrived and saw the set up we decided to rather overnight in Delph which is only ten kilometers away and will do Den Haag tomorrow.

Do you have 14,00 Eurofor Tulip Vase
Tonight we are staying over at Hotel Julianna.

Since there is only parking by the hour (2 Euros an hour)
in all the towns, we had to park near the University where there is free parking. On the walk back to the hotel we by chance passed the Royal Delph manufacturing plant. Very interesting.
An Outing With Mum

You do plenty of walking which is far more convenient than driving, so off into town to find somewhere to eat. I love that most of the restaurants and cafes are individually run and the only franchise we have seen is MacDonalds and only with a small sign and only seen it once here in Den Haag.

Delph town centre is full of pubs and cafes but at 5pm they start closing and town dies down. As you walk through town you cross over one canal after another.

We haven't decided whereto tomorrow.
